My week of Twitter was quite the experience. I didn't really like Twitter, and I will probably never get on it again once this assignment is over, but it was really fun to learn about. I think the best part of this assignment was to learn about how to keep your social media appropriate. Several points were made like keep your pictures clean and even have interactive posts that most people don't think about when setting up an account on Twitter or even Facebook.
The main thing I didn't like about Twitter was in order to have 20 posts I felt like I was blowing it up with information most people don't care about. I feel that if I want to know what someone is up to I will either call them, text them, or go hang out with them. Keeping in touch with minor details on a social media network, to me, makes it seem like there is nothing better to be doing.
Regardless of the fact I don't personally like Twitter there are some really cool things about it. It is nice to be able to follow news sites in order to get updates on breaking news. Also it is fun to follow certain bands or your favorite artists to get a feel of what is going on in their lives. Being able to follow them almost makes them feel like real people instead of huge celebrities that seem almost untouchable.
So like I said before this Twitter assignment was a really good learning experience to me and I am very glad we did it! Maybe sometime in my life I will get back on Twitter, but for now I can say I did it and that's that.

Diversity
A couple weeks ago Aldo Magazzeni came to ISU to talk about his traveling mercies in Afghanistan, Kenya, Haiti and Mexico. His main mission is to go to those countries and help them set up water systems, jails, schools, and ect. to help them survive in a better environment. I learned a lot of interesting things from his stories about all the trips he has been on and all the projects he has done. Aldo has done so many things for so many people in his life, it is truly touching.
Aldo Magazzeni's saying is "do something". He was born in Italy and attended Penn. State. Aldo believes that if you approach people with good intentions and are not there for taking things over and doing them the way you want them done you will be welcome and a lot more likely to receive the assistance you want. He helped build 500 acres of water systems in Kenya, 16 systems in Afghanistan, and also helped 800 HIV orphans in Kenya along with much, much more.
Hearing stories like his make me want to get out in the world and help those less fortunate than myself. I envy him for his courage to go over to these countries alone and helping them live better. Some day I hope to be able to help someone as much as he has. I am really glad I chose to go in and listen to Aldo Magazzeni tell his story.

To be the Best
Volleyball my senior year was by far the best part of my life. I think being at your best doesn't just involve you. It seems when I am at my best the things around me are also going pretty well.
Our high school volleyball team my senior year was practically my second family. My two best friends were also on the team with me and we all played a big part in leading our team. It was the best season of my high school experience and we tied for the best record that year. Even with all of our achievements there is more to why this was my peak time.
Because my last season meant so much to me I found myself trying hard at absolutely everything I did. I don't remember a practice I didn't give my all in. That is really unusual to me because I often get tired of doing the same thing over and over again. Along with giving my all in practice I gave my all in school work too; I got the best grades that semester.
I believe if I can find something here at college I really enjoy participating in that I will be able to feel the same way again. If I enjoy what I am doing in my personal life I find my school work reflects it. Writing this has just made me realize that too, so I will probably be more aware of the things that I enjoy doing and try to carry that same feeling to doing homework and studying.

Beloit College Mindset
After reading through Beloit College Mindset's list I found a few I really agreed with, some I didn't agree with, and also some I had no clue about; I actually had a lot more than a few I didn't understand. When I was finished reading this list I realized how much things change over the years. I agreed strongly with three of them; 2(Email is just too slow, and they seldom if ever use snail mail), 27(Computers have never lacked a CD-ROM disk drive), and 62(Having hundreds of cable channels but nothing to watch has always been routine). I disagreed with numbers 19(They never twisted the coiled handset wire aimlessly around their wrists while chatting on the phone), 28(They’ve never recognized that pointing to their wrists was a request for the time of day), and 50(Toothpaste tubes have always stood up on their caps).
Of the three I agreed with, 62 caught me as the best one. I can't even count how many times I have sat down to watch TV and have not been able to find a single thing to watch out of the 100+ channels. Number 2 came in at a close second though because I would choose texting over Email, for a faster way to communicate, and Email over snail mail (which I only use to send cards). Last of all came number 27. My mom and I were looking at computers for college and we came to one that didn't have a CD-ROM disk drive and I learned that day that computers weren't originally made with one.
I disagreed with 19 and 28 both, but not very strongly. I can remember talking on the phone a lot as a kid while playing with the cord. I also remember a lot through school having to point at my wrist when we weren't supposed to talk and class and I couldn't see the clock. My slight disagreement with these two is because I only remember having a wall phone for a few years and not everyone knew what I was talking about when I pointed at my wrist. I really disagree with number 50 though because I still have tooth paste tubes that don't stand, not very efficient at all!
There were others on the list that I slightly agreed with or disagreed with but these six are the ones that stood out the most. It really surprised me as I went through the list at how much I didn't know and I figure that's because I truly don't know about them. It will be fun to watch this site over the next decade and see how much it changes even then.
